affiliate links
While we feel called toward a cultural shift away from materialism and overconsumption, we recognize that people still need to buy certain items to support their lives, well-being, and daily activities. Since we are in need of creative ways of funding our independent media project that do not require us to establish or feel constrained by direct partnerships with corporate advertisers, we have created this list of nonpartners instead.
We figured—if people have to buy things anyway, we might as well create some “affiliate” links so that these companies would have to redistribute a small percentage of their profits from your order to us (at no additional expense to you).
We put asterisks next to companies that make public statements about how they support ethical labor and conscious practices, but please do your own research and note that these are still in no way our formal endorsements. And if you must purchase from a big box store, you can support our work by at least clicking through our “referral” links before you make your order.
